P&G, Unilever Drop Sweet-Scented Personal Care Collaborations

Native is rolling out two lines with Jarritos and Dunkin’ while Dove reveals a Crumbl collection.

P&G’s personal care brand Native announced partnerships with both Jarritos and Dunkin’.

Previous collaborations include Baked by Melissa and Girl Scouts.

This year, the brand decided to double down on retailer partnerships by giving Jarritos exclusively to Target and Dunkin’ exclusively to Walmart. For the first time, the company also decided to maximize its audience by launching these two collaborations at the same time, it said.

Jarritos scents span from watermelon to pineapple and are available in deodorant, body wash, hand & body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner.

Dunkin scents are Strawberry Frosted, Vanilla Sprinkle, Blueberry Cobbler and Boston Crème in deodorant, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Vanilla scents are trending. The search term “vanilla gourmand fragrances” was searched for 887,000 times and increased 141.10% in interest during the past month, according to Luxoni Beauty. Gourmands, more generally, are the biggest emerging fragrance category on TikTok, according to this month’s fragrance article.

Meanwhile, Unilever’s Dove fans are buzzing on social. In honor of National Cookie Day, Dove is teaming up with viral cookie sensation Crumbl to drop a limited-edition collection of body cleansing and care products inspired by fan-favorite Crumbl cookie flavors.

The complete collection will be available online with in-store availability at Walmart locations nationwide starting in early January 2025.

The full collection is launching in three scents: Confetti Cake, Lemon Glaze and Strawberry Crumb Cake.

The lineup includes a body wash, body scrub, deodorant and liquid hand wash.

Opportunity for Growth

Spate cites “vanilla body mist” as a rising trend in fragrance. The trend of vanilla body mist is characterized by very low volume and low competition, yet maintaining an upward growth trajectory. The search for ingredients like bourbon and sugar alongside vanilla body mist offers opportunity for variations in this fragrance experience. Brands can differentiate themselves with body mists combining vanilla with other scents for a unique and indulgent experience, according to Spate.

So, perhaps a sweet-scented body mist will be next for these personal care brands?

At post time, dessert brand Sprinkles  announced a beauty deal. Also, Pantone selected Mocha Mousse as its Color of the Year.

Looks like 2025 will be quite a treat in the beauty and wellness sector.
